Today, we went to Chinatown. There we experienced the White Jade Tiger story. The tour helped us understand more about the story of the book we had read, and to learn its famous Chinese gambling game – Fan Tan. Look at the left hand side, this is the place that people played FanTan. However all of this took place around 1898, when Chinese men came to Canada to help build the Canadian National Railroad. Many Chinese died building it as they had to cross the Coastal and Rocky Mountain Ranges. Also there were a lot of things about China. Such as lanterns 🏮🏮and dragons🐉🐉 And 80% of the buildings were red. Our guide, John, said that they were built according to our Chinese traditional to build.
